The Sylvania Police Volunteer Program is committed to developing a spirit of cooperation and partnership within the community to enhance the Police Department’s ability to serve the City of Sylvania.

From giving station tours to assisting with tactical training exercises, our volunteers are involved in nearly all aspects of Police Division operations. The volunteers of the Sylvania Police Division have truly answered “the call to serve.”

Volunteer divisions include Patrol, Events and Chaplains. The entire program is managed under the direction of the community affairs sergeant.

Citizens can join the Sylvania Police Volunteers after graduating from the Sylvania Police Citizens Academy. To become a volunteer, a citizen must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving history, pass a background check with no criminal violations and be fingerprinted.
