Office of Community Affairs

The mission of the Office of Community Affairs is to support the Sylvania Police Division in its efforts to maintain an atmosphere of safety and security for members of the community. To be effective in assisting in this mission, the office provides education, guidance and early intervention for the community’s youth in the areas of substance abuse, violence prevention and positive decision making.

Community Affairs Officers have the opportunity to foster relationships with community members and organizations through quality programming and support.

Officers currently assigned to this office also are assigned to our high schools as School Resource Officers and act as liaisons between the police department and the schools.
