The mission of the Office of Community Affairs is to support the Sylvania Police Division in its efforts to maintain an atmosphere of safety and security for members of the community. To be effective in assisting in this mission, the office provides education, guidance and early intervention for the community's youth in the areas of substance abuse, violence and positive decision making.

Partnerships
The Sylvania Police Division cooperates with Sylvania Area Family Services, Inc., to offer the Sylvania Youth Diversion Program. This program is offered to juveniles ages 11-17 (18 if still in high school) who have committed a crime and meet certain qualifications. For more information, visit Sylvania Area Family Services.
Speakers & Tours
The Community Affairs Office provides speakers on a variety of topics, from personal safety and identity theft to vacation safety. We also offer tours of the police division facilities.
